2010: Played for the Dallas Vigilantes where he was 9/19 (47.4%) on FGs and 101/107 (94.4%) on extra points
2008: started all 16 games for the Columbus Destroyers, became the franchise leader in field goals made with 30… Ranks 2nd in franchise history for most points scored by a kicker (235), most PAT attempts (163), PAT conversions (145), and field goal attempts (54).
2007: Named AFL Kicker of the Year, playing in 16 games for the Austin Wranglers… Converted 110-of-118 point after attempts (93.2%, third in the AFL), both career highs… Made 15-of-25 field goal attempts (60%, third in the AFL)… Tallied 155 points (110PAT-15FG) which ranked second among kickers in the AFL.
2006: In his first season with the Destroyers, he was one of the top kickers in the AFL despite playing in 13 games… Ranked in the Top 5 in all kicking categories… Made a career long 53-yard field goal (Mar. 25 at Colorado).

A few weeks after breaking into the AFL with the Chicago Rush, Chris Merkle has been re-assigned to the Bossier-Shreveport Battlewings. Although the Battlewings are struggling this season, they hope that Chris can come in immediately, make an impact and help end the last few games left in the season on a high note.
