AFL CAREER NOTES: Spent the 2008 AFL season with the Georgia Force, Tampa Bay Storm and Philadelphia Soul. He appeared in 10 combined games in 2008, catching 69 passes for 734 yards and 11 touchdowns between the three clubs. In three postseason games with the Soul Holmes caught 14 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown, including a 34-yard touchdown reception in Arena Bowl XXII. Previously, in 2007 he appeared in one regular season game and one postseason game for the Georgia Force.

AFL2: Holmes played with the Green Bay Blizzard of the arenafootball2 league in 2005-06. He caught 59 passes for 983 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2006, appearing in just 10 games for the Blizzard. Before that he played for the Corpus Christi Hammerheads of the indoor football league in 2004, catching 38 passes for 740 yards and 30 touchdowns.

College: Played at Texas A&M – Kingsville, where he also competed in track all four years. Was a three-time All-American in track and field all the while recording 52 receptions for 765 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior and 33 receptions for 432 yards and two scores as a junior.

High School: East Central (San Antonio, TX) High School. As a senior, tallied 44 catches for 670 yards and five touchdowns and was nominated All-Offense Receiver First-Team by the San Antonio Express News. Was also named All-District as a junior with 79 receptions, 989 yards and eight touchdowns.
